PDI 42nd Anniversary Party

You are cordially invited to celebrate the 42nd Anniversary of Pacific Data Images! PDI was founded with the spirit of innovation and mission to pioneer computer graphics on August 11th, 1980 by Carl Rosendahl. Later Richard Chuang and Glenn Entis joined the partnership to grow into a studio dominating the TV computer graphics market, expanding into live-action VFX and feature-length animated feature films. Over the years, PDI expanded from Sunnyvale to Palo Alto, and was acquired by DreamWorks Animation. Its final home was based in Redwood City. While the studio was dissolved on January 22, 2015, there were hundreds of talented artists and employees that passed through PDI’s doors over the years…but the PDI spirit lives on!

Our originally-planned  40th Anniversary Reunion Party was postponed due to COVID but there is no stopping us two years later. Our “42nd Anniversary Party” is officially on for Summer 2022. And we want you there with us for the fun!

Save The Date!

August 13, 2022 • 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM

Where

Devil’s Canyon Brewing Company
935 Washington St.
San Carlos, California 94070

We have the venue rented out from 5 to 9pm. There’s a large indoor area and an even bigger outdoor beer garden. We’ll have a no-host bar with beer, wine and soft drinks available. We’ll also have no-host food trucks in the beer garden so you can enjoy dinner, and see old and new friends.

Who

Anyone is invited who worked at PDI or PDI/DreamWorks from 1980 through to the closing in 2015. More specifically, you worked at PDI at some point in Sunnyvale, Palo Alto, Redwood City or at Raleigh Studios. Feel free to bring a guest, especially a spouse/partner/friend who was part of PDI with us at all our events and functions over the years.

RSVP

RSVPs are open! We are managing this via Eventbrite for ticketing, but tickets are free. Though Devil’s Canyon is large, it’s also finite – so there will be a limit on the number of tickets available.

Thank you!

We can’t wait to see you on August 13, and join for some long-overdue fun together.

The team pulling this together includes:
